Q: How should I prepare my skin and hairs for laser hair removal?
A: Laser hair removal does not require any special skin preparations. We recommend avoiding prolonged sun exposure without sunscreen of spf 30+ or higher, sunbathing, sun beds, and fake tanning. The best results are on hairs which are only 1-3 mm long, we recommend trimming the hairs before treatment. Alternatively, you can shave before treatment as long as the hair is still visible at the root.

Q: How will my skin appear after the treatment?
A: Generally no perceptible changes will be apparent. A slight redness after treatment may occur but will normally fade over 24 hours. Any localized redness after treatment is caused by the destruction of the hair follicles and is quite normal.

Q: What areas can I treat?
A: Most body hair can be removed using Laser Hair Removal – the most common areas are the face, underarms, legs, chest, back and bikini line. We do NOT recommend using laser hair removal on eyebrows.

Q: How many treatments will I need?
A: Laser hair removal is generally considered to be effective after 6-9 treatments. This varies from person to person and the area being treated, hair density, hair growth cycle and color. Some individuals may require more, and some fewer treatments, to achieve satisfaction. Initially you will notice a gradual reduction of the number of hairs. Women who suffer excessive hair growth due to male type hormones are likely to require long term maintenance.

Q: Can I use other hair removal methods between treatments?
A: Laser hair removal needs a hair to be present in the follicle, hair removal methods which pluck the hair, such as waxing, epilators and tweezing are NOT suitable for use between treatments. Bleaching hairs is also NOT suitable as it removes the pigment and renders the laser ineffective. Shaving is ideal for use between treatments.

Q: Is there any aftercare routine I should follow?
A: Sun exposure or deep tanning should be avoided for at least a week. If the skin is exposed use a sunscreen. Also avoid using abrasive cleansers or skin peeling treatments. Avoid swimming in chlorinated water or using a hot tub for 48 hours.

Q: What Can I expect from my professional teeth whitening treatment?
A: People with Healthy teeth and gums but who have stains or yellowish tint seem to get the best results. On some occasions, you may feel a little tingling or perhaps a slight sensitivity. Teeth and or gums may be sensitive for a short time after treatment. You may see temporary bleaching on gums but this is normal and will disappear, usually in less than a day. Your teeth will NEVER be whiter than your genetic traits. All teeth bleach differently. Possible white spots or demineralization may appear on patients who have had braces or who have porous enamel, but this will disappear in 24 hours. The BleachBright service used at TLC will not whiten or damage veneers, crowns, or false teeth.

Q: What should I do after I get my professional teeth whitening?
A: For a minimum of 24 hours after the process, please avoid coffee, tea, dark colored soda, red wine, curry, beetroot, or any other food or drink that would stain the teeth. A good rule of thumb is that if it would stain a white shirt it could stain your teeth. If your teeth are sensitive you can use Sensodyne Toothpaste for immediate relief. Of course, we suggest that you brush and floss as directed by your dentist. There is no guarantee as to the longevity of results therefore we recommend daily maintenance with our KeepBright whitening Pen.
